Page to Stage


Participants will explore the process used by professional actors and directors to take a piece of work from a script to a performance. Participants will work through the Page to Stage process:


Sight-reading: Reading the extract/play; identifying characters; understanding plot


Exploration: Teacher-led improvisation; understanding character emotion and objective; staging & blocking


Rehearsal: Solidifying ideas; finalising blocking; line learning; application of drama techniques


Refinement: Application of Performance Skills; reflection & final improvements


Performance: Showcase final work


Who is this suitable for?

This session can be used for Key Stage Three, Four and Five students.
