DRAMA
Storytelling
Interpreting characters; line learning; exploring characters...this session introduces age-appropriate plays and texts to participants which they will learn, perform and explore throughout the session.
Departure
Working with a range of World War One or Two Stimuli, participants explore the theme of ‘Departure’ through the emotions of soldiers and families living through World War One
(receiving telegrams and the front line) and World War Two (responding to air raids, bunkers and evacuation). This session can be adapted to include relevant war poetry and/or literature.
Peer Pressure
With a strong PSHE focus, this session is designed to introduce Peer Pressure to participants through independent devising of performance pieces. Students are encouraged to think of different ways of saying ‘No’, and what options are available to them in a pressurised situation.
Devising
In this session, the onus is put onto the students as they brainstorm, create and refine their own work. This session can be adapted to suit any theme, from Ancient Rome to Friendship.
